Symmetry Health Osteopathy
Principals based Osteopathic care for all of your aches and pains
The Practitioner
Mike completed his Masters of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc) at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, one of the world’s most prestigious Osteopathic institutions, and one of the only schools that continues in the teachings of Dr. Andrew Still, the founder of Osteopathy.
With nearly a half a decade of intensive academic learning and years of hands-on experience, Mike is trained to help facilitate your body’s natural healing with an extensive educational background in biomechanics, mechanical principles, functional anatomy and human physiology.
Mike uses the principals of Osteopathic assessment to figure out where the issue is stemming from, then focuses on the interrelationship between the structure and function of the body to facilitate change.
Mike is a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA), which licenses him to practice in Ontario.

Osteopathic treatments can help with:
Headaches, migranes, general pain, repetitive strains, low back pains, neck issues, abdominal discomfort, numbness & tingling, nerve irritations and organ issues.
what is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a philosophy that believes the body has all it needs to heal and maintain its own health. That when the structure is in order, the function manages itself. And when the structure loses mobility or becomes distorted or dysfunctional, the whole system is affected.
“When you have adjusted the physical to its normal demands, nature supplies the remainder.”
When the structure is distorted, so is function.
Osteopathic practitioners work on the whole you, not just a single joint, muscle, or symptom.

Treatment is catered to the individual at that moment. Slow and gentle manipulations to work with your body, not on your body.
What to expect
On your first visit to The Osteopathic Clinic, a thorough case history will be taken, including your present condition and your medical history. The more details you can furnish the osteopath with at this stage, the better.
An examination will follow where the osteopath will assess the relevant area of the body and all the related structures in a standing, seated and/or lying position. This will include active and passive movements of the body. For example, a shoulder problem requires an in-depth evaluation of the shoulder, neck, ribs, abdominal structures, upper and lower back.
When coming in for a treatment, you should wear loose, comfortable clothing. The more that can be assessed, the more specific the diagnosis can be.

“Mike at Symmetry has helped me many times with multiple ailments that come from everyday life. He has been able to help with acute injuries (moving the wrong way and ending up with a badly creaked neck that he alleviated), chronic issues from sitting all day, and has even helped align my body to facility its natural healing ability. One treatment, he stopped what felt like a pending kidney infection in its tracks. I was in a lot of pain in my lower back but it started to dissipate shortly after the treatment. It’s always amazing to me what an osteopath can do for the body, from carpal tunnel issues to relaxing the nerves and everything in between!”
Disclaimer: “I am related to this osteopathic manual practitioner so some might find this opinion as biased; however, it doesn’t change the fact that he is very adept at his craft!”
